Our Game Rules
- Bases Distance: Bases are about 20 paces (60 feet) apart.
- Players on Field: Minimum 7, maximum 9 players on the field (not counting the pitcher).
- No Stealing or Lead-Offs: Only one step allowed on a swing and miss.
- No Sliding: Sliding is not allowed; doing so results in an out.
- Pitching: Teams pitch to their own players, with a maximum of 3 pitches per batter.
- Live Ball: Any full swing counts as a live ball, no matter how far it goes.
- Infielders: Infielders can start anywhere; they don't have to be behind the baseline.
- Hitting the Pitcher: If the ball hits the pitcher, it's a strike (except on the third strike).
- Defensive Positions: Only four players can be in the infield. Rovers must stay in the outfield until the ball is hit.
- Safety Base and Home Plate: Runners must tag the safety base to avoid collisions. Runners must run past home plate without touching it. To get a runner out at home, the catcher must have the ball and one foot on home plate before the runner crosses the extended line from the 1st base line. If the runner touches home plate, they are out.
- Blocking Base Path: Fielders cannot block the base path unless making a play. If they do, the runner gets the next base.
- Commitment Line: A line halfway between 3rd base and home plate. Once a runner crosses it, they must go home.
- Have Fun: If there are rule questions, teams should resolve them with good sportsmanship.
- No Rough Play: Rough or abusive play is not tolerated and will lead to reprimand or removal.
- Pinch/Courtesy Runners: Allowed, but must be the last person out of the same gender.
- Foul Pop-Ups: For a foul pop-up to count as an out, it must go at least 10 feet high. If not, it's a foul ball.
